Starla,
Hi! It's Kristie again. I was wondering if you could convo me over at my etsy shop www.kristiegk.etsy.com because someone has dropped a pregnant pit bull off on the street we live on and she has become totally smitten with our family. She is just the sweetest thing. I have bathed her, fed her and we are letting her in the house for tonight because she is so very lonely and love starved. No doubt scared too, because she is pregnant! Unfortunately we can not keep her.

That's why I am writing you tonight.

I remembered from your blog that you work with a rescue for these dogs, and that you don't live very far away from me, and I would greatly appreciate if you could get back in touch with me over at etsy and I will tell you more or give you my number so we can talk via the phone. I need to find a safe place for her as soon as possible. I thought maybe you can help point us in the right direction? I'd hate to send her to the local shelter as they are not a no kill shelter.

OK, sorry for the long note. Please write me back privately over at etsy and we'll take it from there. Thank you so much,
Kristie

Hey Kristie. Just got your comment. Gosh...sure hate to hear about the poor pregger girl. Now you see, first hand, what people lovers pit bulls are, huh? Not always the case with other dogs, but they need & love humans deeply. Where are you? I am in Cocke County, but our shelter does not take out of county animals. I work through our shelter, which is not no kill either, BUT...they try everything short of walking on water to get as many animals adopted as possible. I would offer to take her, but I just got another from work on Saturday & he requires tons of attention. He was hit by a car & his owners did not come back for him, so he spent almost a month in a small surgery kennel at our office. Poor guy is kennel crazed, but..that's another story... About your Pregger Girl. How far do ya think she is? Young Williams Animal Shelter in Knoxville is pit bull friendly, but they are not no kill either. I only know of one shelter that is no kill & that is Noahs Ark in Talbott. Let me know how to contact you. I am getting ready for an Open House this Saturday & I work at the Vets tomorrow, but I will do my best to help you figure something out. THANK YOU SO MUCH for extending a helping hand to this sweet bully girl, Kristie! You are an Angel! So many people don't give the bully dogs a chance. You are my hero today! Thank You! Hugs, Starla :)
